Reiki is a gentle therapeutic technique for relaxation that promotes healing where needed for the well-being of the “whole” person, involving the spiritual, physical, emotional and mental aspects of our energy fields.
On the physical level, relaxation to stressed muscles decreases pain. Mentally & emotionally, anxiety is reduced; a sense of well-being is increased & a deeper level of relaxation is felt. Spiritually, a feeling of rejuvenation & Divine connection occurs.
Reiki originates from Japanese words and is pronounced ray-key. Reiki is made up of two words, Rei and Ki. The most common definition of Rei is universal, meaning that it is present everywhere. The most common definition of Ki is life energy, the nonphysical energy that animates all living things. So, Reiki translated is Universal Life Energy.
Reiki naturally enters your physical, mental, emotional & spiritual bodies and supplies the life force where it is needed so balance & harmony can occur, thus healing can manifest. Reiki has its own consciousness and goes where it is needed. It is administered typically by the laying on of hands or holding the hands above the body
Reiki sessions vary from Healer to Healer. I incorporate Aromatherapy and Reflexology using Young Living Essential Oils, the Vita Flex technique, Pulse points & a form of Effleurage on the neck & head. My clients remain clothed, with the exception of their socks and shoes. I always call upon God's Divine presence who is my source of healing and inspiration.
I should give you some background information on myself! My name is Brenda Vandenberg. I am a R.N. and Reiki Master. I have been in the medical field since 1973, obtaining my R.N. in 1981 in Lubbock, Texas. Being introduced to Alternative medicine in the 90's, I was quite skeptical. However, upon seeing and experiencing positive results that doubt slowly dissolved. And so began my studies of the spiritual, energetic and metaphysical fields of medicine. In 2002 I was certified in Reiki 1 & 2; and at the beginning of 2007 was led to become a Reiki Master. I am so grateful that this form of healing has been brought into my life and that I'm able to share it with others.
Please note: Reiki is not a religion or affiliated with any religion, cult, doctrine, dogma, etc.
